HSD3B7 (Human) ELISA Kit

HSD3B7 encodes an enzyme which is involved in the initial stages of the synthesis of bile acids from cholesterol and a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase superfamily. The encoded protein 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 7 is a membrane-associated endoplasmic reticulum protein which is active against 7-alpha hydrosylated sterol substrates. Mutations in HSD3B7 are associated with a congenital bile acid synthesis defect which leads to neonatal cholestasis, a form of progressive liver disease. BioVision’s HSD3B7 (Human) ELISA Kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle. Capture antibody was precoated onto 96-well micro ELISA plate and the biotin conjugated antibody was used as detection antibody. The standards, test samples, and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, incubated and followed by washing. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding the acidic stop solution. The density of color is proportional to the amount of HSD3B7 captured from the samples.
