CH25H (Human) ELISA Kit
Cholesterol 25-hydroxylase (CH25H) is an intronless gene that is involved in cholesterol and lipid metabolism. The encoded protein is a membrane protein and contains clusters of histidine residues essential for catalytic activity. Unlike most other sterol hydroxylases, this enzyme is a member of a small family of enzymes that utilize diiron cofactors to catalyze the hydroxylation of hydrophobic substrates. BioVision’s CH25H (Human) ELISA Kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle. Capture antibody was precoated onto 96-well micro ELISA plate and the biotin conjugated antibody was used as detection antibody. The standards, test samples, and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, incubated and followed by washing. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding the acidic stop solution. The density of color is proportional to the amount of CH25H captured from the samples.
