Valnemulin hydrochloride

Valnemulin is a pleuromutilin antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. It is used to treat swine diseases including Brachyspira hyodysenteriae and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae which cause dysentery and enzootic pneumonia respectively. Valnemulin (100 mg/kg) has a protective effect on LPS-induced acute lung injury in mice.
