Sodium Citrate Buffer, 0.5M, pH 5.5

Sodium citrate buffer, 0.5M, pH 5.5, is a commonly used buffer with main components are citric acid and sodium hydrogen phosphate. Sodium citrate buffer 0.5M pH 5.5 is used in heat induced epitope retrieval (HIER) methods to reverse the loss of antigenicity that occurs with some epitopes in formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissues. Sodium citrate buffer 0.5M pH 5.5 is the preferred solution for most antibodies.[1].
