Specificity
This antibody is specific for the p40 peptide of the human p63. P63 protein acts as a sequence specific DNA binding transcriptional activator or repressor. It is also involved in notch signaling by probably inducing JAG1 and JAG2 and plays a role in the regulation of epithelial morphogenesis. The p63 molecule has a high degree of structural homology with p53 and has three similar functional domains: N-terminal transcription activation region, core DNA binding region, and C-terminal oligomerization region.
