Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG)
Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG) can specifically identify uracil residues in single strand or double strands DNA, and catalyzes the release of free uracil from uracil-containing DNA to prevent DNA mutation. The enzyme shows no measurable activity on short oligonucleotides (<6 bases), or RNA substrates. UDG is often used to remove residual contaminants in PCR reactions. In addition, it can also be used in SNP genotyping, site-directed mutagenesis and other experiments.
