4E-BP1 (Phospho-Thr69) Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit
The 4E-BP1 (Phospho-Thr69) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor 4E-BP1 (Phospho-Thr69) protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of 4E-BP1 (Phospho-Thr69) in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on 4E-BP1 (Phospho-Thr69) .

Function
Repressor of translation initiation that regulates EIF4E activity by preventing its assembly into the eIF4F complex: hypophosphorylated form competes with EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and strongly binds to EIF4E, leading to repress translation. In contrast, hyperphosphorylated form dissociates from EIF4E, allowing interaction between EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and EIF4E, leading to initiation of translation (By similarity) . Mediates the regulation of protein translation by hormones, growth factors and other stimuli that signal through the MAP kinase and mTORC1 pathways (PubMed:7629182) .
