The Cytochrome P450 24A1 Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor Cytochrome P450 24A1 protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of Cytochrome P450 24A1 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on Cytochrome P450 24A1.

Function
Has a role in maintaining calcium homeostasis. Catalyzes the adrenodoxin-dependent 24-hydroxylation of calcidiol (25- hydroxyvitamin D (3) ) and calcitriol (1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (3) ) . The enzyme can perform up to 6 rounds of hydroxylation of calcitriol leading to calcitroic acid. It also shows 23- hydroxylating activity leading to 1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (3) -26,23-lactone as end product.
