The KSR Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor KSR protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of KSR in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on KSR.

Function
Scaffolding protein that is part of a multiprotein signaling complex. Promotes phosphorylation of Raf family members and activation of downstream MAP kinases. Promotes activation of MAPK1 and/or MAPK3, both in response to EGF and to cAMP. Does not have kinase activity by itself.

Cytoplasm. Membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cell projection, ruffle membrane. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane. In unstimulated cells, where the phosphorylated form is bound to a 14-3-3 protein, sequestration in the cytoplasm occurs. Following growth factor treatment, the protein is free for membrane translocation, and it moves from the cytoplasm to the cell periphery.
