The IkappaB-alpha Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor IkappaB-alpha protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of IkappaB-alpha in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on IkappaB-alpha.

Function
Inhibits the activity of dimeric NF-kappa-B/REL complexes by trapping REL dimers in the cytoplasm through masking of their nuclear localization signals. On cellular stimulation by immune and proinflammatory responses, becomes phosphorylated promoting ubiquitination and degradation, enabling the dimeric RELA to translocate to the nucleus and activate transcription.
