The BRSK1 protein is a critical serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates cortical neuronal polarization and centrosome duplication. BRSK1 is phosphorylated and activated by STK11/LKB1, affecting neuronal polarization through MAPT/TAU phosphorylation (“Thr-529” and “Ser-579”) and WEE1 phosphorylation (“Ser-642”) .
