Background

NK-1.1 surface antigen, also known as CD161b/CD161c, is encoded by the NKR-P1B/NKR-P1C gene. It is expressed on NK cells and NK-T cells in some mouse strains. NK-1.1 has also been shown to play a role in NK cell activation, IFN-γ production, and cytotoxic granule release. NK-1.1 and DX5 are commonly used as mouse NK cell markers.

Anti-NK1.1 In Vivo Antibody - Ultra Low Endotoxin (PK136) is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at – 20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Formulation

0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.2, 150 mM NaCl with no carrier protein, potassium or preservatives added.

Antigen Distribution

Mouse NK cells. Endogenous and interferon induced NK cells. Not present on cytotoxic T-cells and Con A stimulated blast cells. May be present on a certain subset of cytotoxic T-cells strains A, AKR, BALB/C, BALB.H-2b, CBA, C3H, DBA/2, 124 were negative using PK136.

Applications Notes

Flow Cytometry: For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.25 µg per 106 cells in 100 µl volume. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications.
