Antigen Distribution
CD8a (Ly 2.2) is present on the surface of most thymocytes and a subpopulation of mature T-lymphocytes which include most T suppressor/cytotoxic-cells. CD8 participates in T-cell activation through its association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck.

Functional Assay: In vivo Depletion: It has been reported that Balb/C mice may be injected intraperitoneally with 1.0 mg of Rat Anti-Mouse CD8a (Clone 2.43) antibody and allowed to rest for 24 hours for CD8+ T cell depletion.
