Sheep anti Rat IgG1 (subclass specific)

The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc portion of the subclass IgG1. It does not react with other subclasses of IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in rat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG1 in rat serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of rat IgG1 from serum or plasma.

Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.

Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum; No preservative added as it may interfere with he antibody activity; Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled; Normal sheep serum; No foreign proteins added; Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water
