Goat anti Rat IgG2ab (subclass specific)

The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the subclasses IgG2a and IgG2b. It does not react with other subclasses of IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in rat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG2a and/or IgG2b in rat serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of rat IgG2a/IgG2b from serum or plasma.

Pools of purified homogenous IgG2a and IgG2b isolated from rat serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.

Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized whole antiserum; No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity; Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled; Normal goat serum; No foreign proteins added; Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water
