Thrombospondin (TSP)(BSA & Azide Free)

May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human Thrombospondin. Shows no crossreactivity with fibronectin, fibrinogen or von Willebrand factor. It blocks TSP-mediated agglutination of fixed RBCs. It shows no effect on TSP-mediated agglutination of fixed, activated platelets. It inhibits both thrombin -and A23187-induced aggregation of washed, live (not fixed) platelets without affecting the secretion of serotonin. Inhibits adhesion of melanoma G361 cells to TSP. Blocks binding of C-terminal domain to Integrin-Associated Protein (IAP)/CD47. Species Crossreactivity: bovine, porcine, equine, canine, sheep, rat.
