Laminin 5 (Laminin gamma 2)

May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes the 150kD (precursor form) and 105kD (mature form) chain proteins of human Laminin 5. No reactivity is expected with other laminin types, as the gamma 2 chain of laminin is unique to Laminin 5. Strong positive staining is seen in basement membrane of the following tissues: skin, esophagus, lung and kidney. Positive staining is also seen in stomach, small intestine, spleen, thymus, prostate and ovary. thyroid, testis, skeletal and cardiac muscle were negative for Laminin 5 staining.
