Collagen Type VII (BSA & Azide Free)

May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human intact (250kD) and collagenase digested (150kD) tissue Type VII collagen. Reacts with the basement membrane zone of stratified squamous epithelia. Does not crossreact with types I, II, III, IV, V collagens, lamins and fibronectin. Epitope: Located on non-helical (non-collagenous) C-terminal region of collagen VII and is resistant to collagenase, trypsin, pronase, neuraminidase, chondroitinase, and hyaluronidase However, it is lost by digestion of collagen VII with pepsin. Species Crossreactivity: marmoset, monkey, bovine, sheep, goat, porcine and guinea pig.
