Streptococcus Group A (APC)

May be stored at 4 degree C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive.

Recognizes Streptococcus Group A. No immunological crossreactivity with other Streptococcus Groups. There is potential non-specific crossreactivity with other organisms such as Streptococcus Group C and Staphyloccus due to the presence of Protein A like proteins (Staphyloccus) and Protein C (Streptococcus C) present on the intact surface of these bacteria. These proteins bind any immunoglobulin.
