Specificity
Recognizes CD44 at 80-95kD. Epitope is resistant to digestion by trypsin and chymotrypsin. Reacts with red cells pretreated with 2-aminoethylisothiouronium bromide (AET). Digestion of intact erythrocytes by trypsin treatment left a 50-54kD protein fragment attached to the membrane. Digestinon with chymotrypsin left a somewhat similarly sized 51-56kD component. Species Crossreactivity: Human, baboon and green monkey. Does not crossreact with rat.
