Thyroxine (T4) (FITC)

Storage Conditions

May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.

Specificity

Recognizes Thyroxine (T4). Reacts with the T4-BSA conjugate and free thyroxine. Reactivity with L-Thyroxine is 100% and with D-Thyroxine is 30%. Crossreactivity with Triiodothyronine (T3) is <1%.
