5-nitrobenzimidazole is a genotoxic nitro compound and 6-aminopurine (HY-B0152) analogue. 5-nitrobenzimidazole shows a slight inhibitory effect on xanthine oxidase, with an IC50 of 86.84 μM. 5-nitrobenzimidazole can be used in the research of hyperuricemia[1][2].
