Background
Alsterpaullone is a potent inhibitor of CDK1/cyclin B. It is also a potent and selective inhibitor of GSK-3β and CDK5/p25. Alsterpaullone induces apoptosis by activating caspase-8 and caspase-9, followed by disruption of the mitochondrial potential. It is cell-permeable.
