Product Specifications
Background
Resveratrol is a stilbenoid and a phytoalexin produced naturally by several plants. Its effects are numerous and include anti-cancer (1), anti-inflammatory (2), anti-fungal and has other beneficial cardiovascular effects.
It has been proposed that Mn SOD is increased by the pathwayRESV-SIRT1/Nad+- FOXO3a- MnSOD (3). In terms of its anti-cancer properties, resveratrol modulates the transcription factor NF-KB and inhibition of the cytochrome P450 enzyme (1, 4). It also enhances hippocampal neurogenesis.
