AIP-II is a macrocyclic peptide signaling molecule used for quorum sensing, which can be produced be Staphylococcus aureus. AIP-II binds to AgrC-II receptor, regulates the virulence gene expression in Staphylococcus aureus. AIP-II is an antagonist for AgrC-I receptor[1].
