The GABA-A receptor beta 3 subunit (GABRB3) is a vital component of the GABA-A receptor complex, the primary class of fast-acting ligand-gated ion channels responsible for inhibitory neurotransmission in the brain. These receptors are essential for maintaining the balance between neuronal excitation and inhibition, a process critical for normal brain function and network stability. GABRB3 is widely expressed in the central nervous system and plays a key role in shaping synaptic and extrasynaptic inhibitory currents. 1 µg/ml of SMC-339 was sufficient for detection of Beta 3 GABA receptor in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
