Protein kinase C epsilon type kinase has been shown to be involved in many different cellular functions, such as neuron channel activation, apoptosis, cardioprotection from ischemia, heat shock response, as well as insulin exocytosis. Knockout studies in mice suggest that this kinase is important for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) -mediated signaling in activated macrophages and may also play a role in controlling anxiety-like behavior.

Human Protein kinase C epsilon type (PRKCE) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human PRKCE. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human PRKCE and analogues was observed.

This Human Protein kinase C epsilon type (PRKCE) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PRKCE in samples. An antibody specific for PRKCE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPRKCE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PRKCE is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PRKCE bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
