Human Alpha-2-antiplasmin (SERPINF2) ELISA Kit

An inherited hemorrhagic diathesis due to plasmin inhibitor deficiency was described by Koie et al. (1978) in a 25-year-old Okinawa man. He had suffered prolonged bleeding and ecchymoses after minor trauma, spontaneous joint hemorrhage, and one episode of hemothorax. The bleeding episodes were reduced in frequency and severity by an antiplasminic drug. Laboratory abnormalities were limited to shortened euglobulin-lysis time and whole blood clot lysis time. No circulating alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor was found in the plasma. Even though only one case was observed, autosomal recessive inheritance was undoubted because the parents were consanguineous and both had plasma antiplasmin levels about half normal. The authors called the condition Miyasato disease after the proband's surname.

Human Alpha-2-antiplasmin (SERPINF2) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human SERPINF2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human SERPINF2 and analogues was observed.

This Human Alpha-2-antiplasmin (SERPINF2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SERPINF2 in samples. An antibody specific for SERPINF2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anySERPINF2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SERPINF2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SERPINF2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
