Salusin-α
Salusin-α is an endogenous bioactive peptide with hemodynamic and cell proliferation activities. Salusin-α can stimulate the proliferation of quiescent vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and fibroblasts, leading to a rapid and significant decrease in blood pressure and heart rate, but its effect is weaker than that of Salusin-β. Salusin-α has potential application value in cardiovascular disease research[1].
