ECE2 (Endothelin Converting Enzyme 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are A-beta Pathways: uptake and Degradation and Peptide ligand-binding receptors. GO annotations related to this gene include methyltransferase activity and metalloendopeptidase activity. An important paralog of this gene is ECE1. Converts big endothelin-1 to endothelin-1. Also involved in the processing of various neuroendocrine peptides, including neurotensin, angiotensin I, substance P, proenkephalin-derived peptides, and prodynorphin-derived peptides. May limit beta-amyloid peptide accumulation in brain. May also have methyltransferase activity.
