The pfHPRT (Plasmodium falciparum hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase) protein is a member of the LDH/MDH (lactate dehydrogenase/malate dehydrogenase) superfamily. It plays a crucial role in the purine metabolism salvage pathway of the malaria-causing parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
