Anti-Transcription Factor IIB Antibody

General transcription factor that plays a role in transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II (Pol II). Released from the PIC early following the onset of transcription during the initiation and elongation transition and reassociates with TBP during the next transcription cycle (PubMed:7601352). This antibody may be used in ELISA, Western blot, or electrophoretic mobility (gel shift) assays to identify human TFIIB. It can also immuno-deplet TFIIB from cell nuclear extracts and inhibit transcription of TFIIB from cell nuclear extracts. This antibody is polyol-responsive and can be used for gentle purification of TFIIB.
