Background
CD1d is a membrane protein non-covalently bonded to β2-microglobulin (β2m) and shows high homology between human and mice. CD1d can present α-galactosylceramide (α-GalCer), a glycolipid extracted and isolated from the marine sponge, and this complex can activate human and murine CD1d restricted NKT cells.
Specifications
This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus. The protein has a calculated MW of 37.3 kDa and 15.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 55-60 kDa and 15-16 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
