DEP-5 is an inhibitor of acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) with an inhibition constant of 39.4 μM. DEP-5 is a diphenyl ether-pyrimidine hybrid with herbicidal activity against the Leptochloa chinensis (L.) Nees[1].
