Pteropodine (compound 3) is a monoterpenoid oxindole alkaloid that can be isolated from Hamelia patens. Pteropodine modulates the functions of M1 muscarinic and 5-HT2 receptors. Pteropodine has antioxidant and antimutagenic properties[1].
