Nectin-3/CD113 is a multifunctional cell adhesion protein that mediates cell-cell interactions through heterophilic trans binding to nectin-like proteins or nectins. It interacts with NECTIN2 at the Sertoli cell-spermatocyte junction and triggers CDC42 and RAC small G protein activation through common signaling molecules such as SRC and RAP1.
