Benzyl cinnamate

Benzyl cinnamate, occurs in Balsam of Peru and Tolu balsam, in Sumatra and Penang benzoin, and as the main constituent of copaiba balsam, is used in heavy oriental perfumes and as a fixative. Benzyl cinnamate has antibacterial activity against S. aureus and S. epidermidis (MIC = 537.81 μM) . Benzyl cinnamate can induce acute toxixity, depression, and skin irritation in vivo[1][2].
