The DDR1 protein is a fibrillar collagen receptor that coordinates key cellular processes including matrix remodeling, migration, differentiation, survival, and proliferation. Upon collagen binding, DDR1 activates signaling cascades involving SRC and MAP kinases, promoting matrix remodeling through MMP upregulation, promoting cell migration, wound healing, and tumor invasion.
