Longevity Assurance Homolog 2 Blocking Peptide
Product Specifications
Background
LASS2, a Human homologue of the yeast longevity assurance gene LAG1 is highly expressed in liver and kidney as compared to the expression of the Human LAG1 homologue LAG1Hs-1. LASS2 is located on chromosome 1q11. The LASS2 protein interacts with several membrane-associated receptors or transporters. LASS2 protein inhibits the colony formation of Human hepatoma cells in vitro, which suggests that this gene may be involved in the regulation of cell growth.
Synonyms

Assay Principle
For use with Lass2 polyclonal antibodies (Cat. No. X2307P , X2309P). Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions.
Use: Incubate antibody neat with at least a 50 fold stoichiometric excess of blocking peptide at 37ºC for 20 minutes (molecular weights of peptide and antibody are ~2.5 kDa and ~160 kDa, respectively). Antibody can then be diluted to a concentration suitable for Western blot.
Example: 10 ?l or 10 ?g of Exalpha's rabbit anti-Lass2 (Cat. No. X2309P) is added to 10 ?g of blocking peptide for a total volume of 20 ?l. The mixture is allowed to incubate for 20 minutes at 37ºC prior to dilution in suitable buffer (for Western blot, etc.).
