RANTES/CCL5 protein attracts monocytes, memory T-helper cells, and eosinophils, releases histamine, and activates eosinophils. It interacts with chemokine receptors CCR1, CCR3, CCR4, and CCR5. It inhibits HIV and may promote neuron survival and insulin secretion via GPR75.
