Ebselen derivative 1 (Compound 19) is a glutathione peroxidase (GPx) mimic with oral activity. Ebselen derivative 1 demonstrates significant protective effects against cisplatin (HY-17394) -induced hair cell (HC) damage both in vitro and in vivo, effectively reducing oxidative stress, apoptosis, and ferroptosis in hair cells.
