Additionnal Information
Caperitide acetate is a synthetic analog of human atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) containing 28 amino acids. It acts as an inhibitor of endothelin-1 secretion when stimulated by angiotensin II (Ang II), likely through a cGMP-dependent mechanism. It induces natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation, effectively reducing blood volume and easing cardiac strain. By suppressing the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), it aids in preventing myocardial remodeling and fibrosis, thereby enhancing cardiac function and decreasing the incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and stroke. Carperitide acetate inhibits endothelin-1 secretion in a dose-dependent way.
