It also inhibits eosinophil peroxidase release after IgA activation and reduces eosinophil cationic protein and eosinophil-derived neurotoxin, suggesting direct effects on eosinophils. It is a mast cell stabilizer used to treat asthma, allergic conjunctivitis, and superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis.
