Applications Notes
The TRUPCR® AMR Panel Kit is a Real-Time PCR–based nucleic acid amplification assay for the qualitative detection and differentiation of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes encoding resistance to Trimethoprim/Sulfamethoxazole (SXT), Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactams (ESBLs), Carbapenems, Colistin, Vancomycin, and Methicillin from clinical samples of human origin or cultured isolates. The assay uses fluorescent dye–labeled probes in a TaqMan® chemistry system. Each reaction includes an endogenous internal control (IC) to check for sample adequacy and possible PCR inhibition, minimizing false negatives. The kit also employs a hot-start enzyme to reduce non-specific amplification and incorporates Uracil-N-glycosylase (UNG) in the master mix to prevent carry-over contamination. A negative result with the TRUPCR® AMR Panel Kit does not exclude the presence of other resistance mechanisms. Results must always be interpreted in conjunction with clinical and laboratory findings.
