Notes
Goats were immunized with purified chicken IgY (whole protein) emulsified in Freund’s adjuvant. After multiple injections, goats were bled and serum collected. Antibodies were isolated using affinity chromatography and conjugated to biotin via a 6-carbon spacer.
Specificity
H&L; does not cross-react with mammalian IgGs.
Quality Control
Antibodies were analyzed using immunoelectro-phoresis and a sandwich ELISA using HRP-labeled streptavidin. In this latter test, a 1:500,000 dilution was found to generate an O.D of 1.0 in a 30 minute reaction with tetramethylbenzidine as the substrate.
Recommended Usage
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.
