Buffer C1

Buffer C1 is a high-salt binding buffer formulated to promote efficient adsorption of plasmid or genomic DNA onto silica membranes or magnetic beads during purification. It typically contains chaotropic salts such as guanidine hydrochloride or guanidine thiocyanate, along with buffering agents that maintain optimal pH for nucleic acid binding. Buffer C1 effectively removes residual proteins, lipids, and other contaminants from crude lysates generated after neutralization.
