1 KB DNA Marker

The 1 kb DNA Marker is a premixed molecular-weight standard designed for accurate sizing of double-stranded DNA fragments in the ~500 bp to ~10,000 bp range during agarose gel electrophoresis. It consists of defined DNA bands—typically including 500 bp, 1,000 bp, 2,000 bp, 3,000 bp, 4,000 bp, 5,000 bp, 6,000 bp, 8,000 bp and 10,000 bp—with one or more intense reference bands (commonly the 3,000 bp or 5,000 bp band) for easy identification. The marker is supplied ready-to-load with tracking dyes and loading buffer, requiring no heating or dilution before use. Typical loading is 3–10 μL per lane on 0.8–1 % agarose gels, depending on desired intensity. The solution is stable under standard storage at –20 °C long-term or 4 °C short-term. It provides sharp, uniform bands ideal for PCR product verification, restriction digest analysis, cloning confirmation, sequencing preparation and general gel-electrophoresis quality control in molecular biology, genomics and diagnostic workflows.
