The Blood Viral DNA/RNA Maxi Kit is ideal for high-capacity recovery of both viral DNA and RNA from large volumes of whole blood, plasma, or serum — supporting sample volumes typically up to 2 mL (or more depending on variant) . The protocol begins with an optimized lysis buffer containing carrier RNA, tailored for viral-particle disruption and inhibitor removal (heme, proteins) . Nucleic acids are bound to a high-capacity silica-membrane or magnetic-bead format, followed by robust washing to remove inhibitors, and finally eluted in a low-volume RNase/DNase-free buffer. Purified DNA/RNA is suitable for downstream workflows such as RT-PCR, qPCR, next-generation sequencing and viral genotyping. The kit includes large-volume lysis/binding reagents, binding modules (columns or beads), wash buffers, elution buffer, collection tubes, and a comprehensive user protocol.
