Blood Viral DNA/RNA Mini Kit

The Blood Viral DNA/RNA Mini Kit enables simultaneous purification of viral DNA and RNA from whole blood, plasma, serum or related liquid samples using a spin-column format. The protocol begins with lysis of viral particles and blood cell components in a chaotropic buffer with carrier RNA, followed by binding of nucleic acids to a silica membrane, two efficient wash steps to remove proteins and inhibitors (including heme and salts), and final elution of purified viral DNA and RNA in low-volume RNase/DNase-free buffer. Sample input typically ranges from 100–500 μL of blood or plasma. The purified nucleic acids are ready for downstream RT-PCR, qPCR, sequencing and viral genotyping workflows. The kit includes lysis buffer, wash buffers, carrier RNA, spin columns, collection tubes and a detailed protocol—no phenol/chloroform extraction or ethanol precipitation required.
