Plant DNA Mega Kit

The Plant DNA Mega Kit is engineered for ultra-high-capacity extraction of genomic DNA from large quantities of plant tissue—including leaves, roots, seeds or woody material—typically handling up to ~500 mg to 1 g of fresh tissue (or equivalent dried weight) . The protocol begins with mechanical disruption (liquid-nitrogen grinding or bead-beating), strong-lysis buffer treatment to break down plant cells and remove polysaccharides and polyphenols, followed by high-capacity DNA binding (up to ~500 μg or more) to a large-format column or bead matrix. Rigorous wash steps eliminate inhibitors common in plant materials such as phenolics and polysaccharides, and the purified DNA is eluted in low-salt buffer or water. Output DNA is ready for demanding downstream applications including long-range PCR, restriction digestion, sequencing, array-based genotyping and genome assembly workflows. The kit includes large-volume lysis/neutralization buffers, high-capacity binding columns or beads, wash buffers, optional RNase A, Elution Buffer, collection tubes and a detailed user protocol. No organic solvents or ethanol precipitation are required—making it ideal for plant-science, biotechnology and large-scale genomics labs.
